eBay Guaranteed Delivery

eBay is set to roll out its new shipping program to sellers this Fall. Those who opt-in will be able to ship to have their products delivered to consumers within three days of shipping. Sellers currently on eBay with at least four transactions per day will be eligible to enroll in the initial roll-out of this program at no additional cost. Others may choose to be placed on a wait list.

Fedex Delivery Challenges UPS for Holidays

Earlier this year, UPS announced that there would be a surcharge on packages delivered around the holidays of 2017. UPS will be charging an additional 27 cents for U.S. ground shipments between Nov. 19th and Dec. 2nd, and again from Dec. 17th through the 23rd. The surcharges will be higher for faster delivery during those peak delivery times.

In contrast, Fedex has announced that a surcharge will only be added between Nov. 20th and Dec. 24th of this year if the packages are oversized, require special handling, or are unauthorized.

FedEx defines unauthorized packages any package that is more than 108 inches long, 165 inches in length and girth, or weighs more than 150 pounds. The additional handling surcharge applies to any package that is not fully encased in an outer shipping container, weighs more than 70 pounds, or is one that measures 60 inches at its longest side or 30 inches at its second longest side.”

The battle between these two major delivery carriers is already heating up for the 2017 holiday season!

The Amazon Buy-Out of Whole Foods is Complete…

…and they’ve hit the ground running with Whole Food’s prices being slashed the day the acquisition went through. Some of these price cuts were as high as 43%, giving Whole Food enthusiasts something to celebrate.

The rest of the grocery industry is on edge though. With Amazon entering the market, grocers have already started fighting to keep customers around by expanding delivery and curbside loading services. While Amazon will have to slash prices even more to compete with Walmart, the big grocery war is now underway.
